What is Ledger21?

Ledger21 is a free web directory that keeps a running record of filed websites across twenty-two named columns. Each entry is noted by hand and checked before it appears in the record.

Is it free to submit my site?

Yes — completely free. There is no charge to file your site in Ledger21, and there never will be. The directory is free to browse and free to join.

How are sites organised?

By column. Every site is filed under the column that best describes it — from Computing & Applications to Journeys & Destinations, twenty-two sections in all. Browse any column to read the entries in that area.

How do I submit my site?

Go to the submission page, enter your site's URL, and choose the column it belongs in. Once your submission is reviewed, it will be filed in the record. The whole process takes under a minute.

Do you review submissions before filing?

Yes. Each submission is looked over before it goes into the column. We check that the destination is active and that the site fits the section it was submitted to. Listings that go offline are removed in due course.

Can I update my listing later?

At the moment, Ledger21 does not offer a self-serve update tool. If your site moves to a new address or you need a correction, you can re-submit and note the change — the original entry will be updated or replaced on review.

How many sites are in Ledger21?

There are currently 831 filed entries across twenty-two columns. New entries are added as submissions are reviewed. The total count grows over time as the record expands.

About the board

Ledger21 is a free web directory that keeps a running record of the open web — 831 filed entries spread across twenty-two named columns. Each entry in the ledger is noted by a person, not generated by an algorithm: a site name, a direct link, and a line on what the destination covers. The columns run from Wagering & Gaming to Journeys & Destinations, from Oral Health to Counsel & Law, covering a broad spread of web activity. To find what you are after, pick a column and read down the entries; to add your own site, submit it through the form and it will be reviewed and filed. There is no charge to be listed in Ledger21, and there never will be. The record is kept because the web is too large to navigate without one.
